Gigapan #4: Quarry Stick, Poultney, Vermont

This was a difficult shot to take since the only vantage point is a north-facing view, towards the sun and lots of white clouds, which interfered with the stitching of the guy wires. These sticks used to be commonplace, but this is the last one standing in the Slate Valley region of New York and Vermont. The postcard at the end of this post is a view of the Eureka and Johnson Quarries when mining was in full swing - pretty astounding really.
